Job Overview

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead pharmaceutical field sales operations in Ambala, Haryana. The role involves driving area sales targets, coaching Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives (PSRs), implementing brand strategies, and ensuring successful new product launches.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, deep understanding of the Indian pharmaceutical market, and proven experience in managing field sales teams in the RX segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive achievement of area sales targets through structured field planning and execution.

  • Provide on-the-job coaching to PSRs on brand strategy, doctor engagement, and territory management.

  • Develop and implement weekly sales plans and quarterly input planners for PSRs.

  • Create and manage doctor-product matrix to maximize prescription generation.

  • Plan and execute new product launches, including pre-launch and post-launch reviews.

  • Conduct Retailer Chemist Prescription Audit (RCPA) to gather competitor insights and evaluate doctor potential.

  • Strengthen engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), hospitals, and purchase officers to improve institutional sales.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and MCI guidelines while reviewing sponsorship and related requests.

  • Monitor doctor availability and maintain updated territory mapping for strategic execution.

  • Set team goals, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training needs.

  • Mentor team members on communication, influencing skills, and relationship management to enhance retention and productivity.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate with a science background (mandatory).

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, competitors, and therapy segments.

  • Expertise in pharmaceutical field sales management and prescription generation strategies.

  • Ability to analyze sales data, track KPIs, and generate performance reports.
