Position Overview
AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced Analyst – Scientific Communications & Medical Information to join its Global MI&C team in Bengaluru. This role supports the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant scientific communication and medical information across therapeutic areas. The position requires strong expertise in medical writing, content development, literature evaluation, and evidence-based communication aligned with regulatory and company standards.
This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about transforming scientific data into clear, meaningful insights for healthcare providers while supporting digital innovation and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and maintain accurate scientific and medical content across multiple formats, including scientific narratives, foundational platforms, MSL materials, infographics, standard responses, FAQs, and digital assets.
Deliver clear, balanced, and scientifically validated responses to medical information inquiries from healthcare professionals to support appropriate use of AstraZeneca products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure medical content aligns with strategic, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Conduct comprehensive literature searches to identify relevant scientific evidence and ensure proper usage in content development.
Translate complex scientific data into concise, audience-appropriate messages supporting therapeutic milestones, product strategy, and scientific objectives.
Perform detailed medical accuracy reviews to ensure adherence to scientific and regulatory standards.
Drive process improvements that enhance content quality, efficiency, and turnaround time.
Support development and implementation of digital solutions for modern scientific communication delivery.
Contribute to strategic medical planning and ensure timely delivery of materials for product launches, data updates, and congress activities.
Lead or participate in core workstreams including scientific content creation, digital innovation, or medical information services depending on experience and business needs.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong scientific and therapeutic area understanding with the ability to create compelling scientific communication materials.
Experience providing accurate medical responses and collaborating with medical, scientific, and regulatory teams.
Ability to evaluate scientific literature and apply insights appropriately.
Expertise in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable communication for diverse audiences.
Experience conducting medical accuracy reviews and ensuring high-quality scientific content.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a process-improvement mindset.
Familiarity with digital tools, platforms, and content-delivery technologies.
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Advanced scientific degree (PharmD preferred; MD, PhD, MSc, or equivalent).
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in scientific communications, medical information, medical writing, or related roles in pharma, biotech, or healthcare.
Clinical or healthcare systems knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in developing digital scientific content and digital content strategy.
Project management skills and exposure to cross-functional leadership.
Experience mentoring team members (for senior-level applicants).
Knowledge of local regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements for Medical Affairs and drug information services.
