Role Overview

The Forecast Analyst – Rare Disease will support the Global Integrated Brand Excellence (GIBEx) and GA&I Forecast Leader, Portfolio Heads, and Commercial teams by developing robust revenue, volume, and patient forecasts for strategic brands and early-stage assets.

This role is integral to enterprise-wide portfolio decision-making, providing insight into market potential, patient dynamics, and commercial opportunities. The Forecast Analyst translates market and clinical data into actionable insights, supporting strategic planning, resource allocation, and long-term growth in rare disease portfolios.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate, transparent, and timely forecasts across multiple indications, markets, and strategic brands, clearly documenting assumptions and confidence levels.

  • Support portfolio assessment, long-term and mid-term planning, and prioritization processes for rare disease and orphan drug portfolios.

  • Collaborate in cross-functional discussions at program and portfolio levels to align forecasts with commercial strategy and business goals.

  • Confidently defend forecasting approaches, assumptions, and methodologies to stakeholders.

  • Ensure robust, objective forecasts by leveraging multiple data sources, modeling techniques, and sensitivity analyses.

  • Develop new product introduction forecasts (short-term and long-term) to inform operational and strategic planning.

  • Drive continuous improvement of forecasting methodologies, integrating advanced statistical techniques, predictive modeling, AI/ML tools, and automation.

  • Build and maintain portfolio dashboards, scenario analyses, and business cases to guide decision-making.

  • For Global forecasting: develop new models for pipeline, early assets, lifecycle management, and business development.

  • For US forecasting: support S&OP processes, generate weekly/monthly/yearly models, and perform volume-to-revenue conversions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, biotechnology, or a related field.

  • Advanced degrees (PhD, MBA, MSc) preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in pharmaceutical forecasting with strong knowledge of models, techniques, and approaches.

  • Experience in rare diseases and orphan drug portfolios, including patient flow, treatment dynamics, and market behavior.

  • Skilled in integrating market research and secondary data into forecast assumptions.

  • Proficient with industry-standard datasets (IQVIA MIDAS, DDD NPA, Xponent, Truven, MarketScan) and methodologies; US forecasting experience with TRx/NBRx/NRx data preferred.

  • Strong analytical, Excel, financial modeling, and reporting skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with global stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Advanced statistical forecasting, predictive analytics, AI/ML, and automation.

  • Experience with Power Apps and Power BI.

  • Prior experience in rare disease portfolio prioritization and global forecasting models.
