Pharmacovigilance Intern/Student Role: A Gateway to Excellence

About the Role
Job Purpose:
This position contributes to pharmacovigilance process and metrics activities by supporting the drafting of process steps, analyzing data, and assisting process owners and metrics analysts in routine tasks and other initiatives within Pharmacovigilance Science & Process Excellence (PS&PV).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor pharmacovigilance process excellence mailbox(es), triage queries, and respond or forward them as necessary.
  • Assist in evaluating pharmacovigilance regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and communication resources for Novartis associates and third-party partners.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance & Quality team to prepare reports and perform quality checks to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Create draft reports or presentations focusing on compliance metrics or pharmacovigilance processes.
  • Support projects by assisting leads in team coordination, completing tasks, and preparing relevant documentation.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Successful and timely completion of assigned process and compliance tasks.
  • Delivery of high-quality outputs within set timelines.

Ideal Background:
Education:

  • PharmD, M Pharma, MSc, or equivalent degree in life sciences.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (knowledge of additional languages is a plus).

Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in pharmacovigilance.
  • Familiarity with working in project teams within a matrix environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
