Job Description

Position: Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in non-promotional, peer-to-peer exchange of medical and scientific information with Scientific Leaders (SLs) or Key Decision Makers (KDMs), adhering to legal, regulatory, and industry guidelines.
  • Gain in-depth insights into diseases, therapeutic areas, and healthcare needs within the local geography, identifying data gaps and challenges.
  • Represent Medical Affairs at non-promotional medical events (e.g., Medical Congresses and Symposia) and assist in the coordination of pre-event scientific information and post-event summaries.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, pipeline, or marketed product information, utilizing approved materials.
  • Guide SLs or KDMs in accessing company resources related to research, grants, clinical trials, and outcomes.
  • Organize and participate in medical and scientific exchange activities, such as hospital lectures, journal clubs, expert input forums, and advisory boards, with the potential to serve as a presenter.
  • Share publicly available scientific information with SLs and direct them to appropriate resources for further details.
  • Provide medical/scientific support for Health Technology Assessments and formulary decisions in accordance with scientific exchange principles.
  • Contribute to regional Medical Affairs Plans and implement related activities.
  • Identify potential study investigators for sponsored studies at the request of the clinical trials team.
  • Provide insights on scientific gaps, ideas, and trends from scientific exchanges to inform company strategies and development programs.
  • Support commercial colleagues with on-label or disease state scientific training, when permissible.
  • Provide scientific support for patient access programs.
  • Collaborate with Medical Advisors and MSLs in the therapeutic area (TA) and across TAs.
  • Leverage external and internal knowledge to execute research support across the scientific engagement model (SEM).
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to apply up-to-date scientific knowledge and conduct peer-to-peer exchanges, while providing feedback to internal stakeholders.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Strong baseline knowledge in assigned therapeutic area(s).
  • In-depth understanding of clinical trial methods, implementation, and data interpretation.
  • Continuous eagerness to learn about specific therapeutic areas.
  • Confident in presenting scientific and technical information to build trust and credibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, including effective listening and probing.
  • Strong collaboration skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Scientific expertise in the therapeutic area.
  • Leadership capabilities, including cross-functional alignment and cooperation.
  • Strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • College degree in pharmacy or related field.
