Role Overview

The Vice President, APAC – Biotech & Delivery Innovation is a senior, client-facing leadership role accountable for the growth and operational excellence of IQVIA Biotech Solutions across the APAC region. The position focuses on strategic leadership, customer relationship management, project delivery, and innovation in operational models to drive speed, quality, and consistency in clinical trial execution.

This role requires balancing regional business leadership (>60% of time), global project excellence and innovation (~20%), and regional delivery oversight (~10%).


Key Responsibilities

Regional Biotech Leadership (60%):

  • Lead IQVIA Biotech engagements in APAC, driving new customer acquisition and expanding existing relationships with emerging biotech companies (EBPs).

  • Oversee APAC project leadership teams, ensuring successful delivery, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.

  • Advocate and implement integrated operations delivery models with global IQVIA Biotech teams.

  • Manage P&L for IQVIA Biotech APAC, ensuring optimal allocation of resources, fiscal oversight, and operational efficiency.

Global Project Excellence & Innovation (20%):

  • Serve as APAC regional liaison with global project leadership for multi-regional program visibility, risk identification, and mitigation.

  • Resolve regional delivery issues, escalations, and financial commitments.

  • Contribute to global initiatives for operational consistency, quality, and innovation.

APAC Delivery Excellence (10%):

  • Review delivery KPIs, operational metrics, and financial health across APAC clinical operations.

  • Support initiatives to achieve APAC Research & Development operational and financial targets.

Leadership & People Management:

  • Manage and develop staff, ensuring performance appraisals, career progression, and professional growth.

  • Provide strategic oversight of clinical operations across regions/countries, including resourcing, hiring, onboarding, and training standards.

  • Monitor quality, budget, and project efficiency; implement action plans for improvements.

  • Drive corporate and departmental process improvement, marketing, and global sales support initiatives.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or scientific discipline. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 17+ years in clinical trials, clinical operations, or project management.

    • 13+ years in leadership roles.

    • Proven success managing multi-regional clinical operations and delivering strategic business objectives.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • In-depth knowledge of ICH/GCP and regulatory requirements across APAC.

    • Strong expertise in clinical research financial management and project accounting.

    • Excellent leadership, presentation, and executive communication skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant IT tools.

    • Effective organizational, problem-solving, and time management capabilities.

    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
