Position Overview:

IQVIA is seeking a highly experienced and passionate pharmaceutical product development strategist to join as VP of Therapeutic Strategy with a focus on Rare Diseases and Pediatrics. This role emphasizes clinical-commercial integration across all phases of development—from discovery to market—with strong attention to FDA regulations, global standards, and innovation in cell and gene therapies (preferred).


Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Strategic Development

  • Develop integrated product development strategies for drugs, biologics, and devices.

  • Lead preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial strategies.

  • Perform risk assessments and gap analyses focused on clinical development.

🔹 Clinical Leadership

  • Lead and support clinical trial design and related aspects for clients.

  • Provide expert therapeutic area guidance for clinical development plans.

  • Ensure strategic alignment with medical, regulatory, and ethical guidelines.

🔹 Innovation & Acceleration

  • Propose and implement timeline acceleration strategies.

  • Identify and promote innovative development solutions.

  • Support strategic business initiatives and investment evaluations.

🔹 Client Engagement

  • Work closely with clients and senior stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and delivery quality.

  • Participate in strategic business development efforts, including:

    • Client presentations

    • Conference engagements

    • Strategic planning sessions

🔹 Educational & Scientific Leadership

  • Represent IQVIA at scientific meetings and maintain awareness of emerging trends.

  • Provide internal and external educational services on drug development.

  • Build and sustain relationships with pharma/biotech companies, KOLs, and regulatory bodies.

🔹 Due Diligence & Advisory

  • Provide regulatory, clinical, and development expertise during internal and client-side due diligence.

  • Collaborate with IQVIA Strategic Drug Development teams across global initiatives.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

🎓 Education:

  • MD degree (Required)

📆 Experience:

  • 15+ years of clinical research experience (multi-regional/global focus)

  • 10+ years in strategic leadership roles

  • Prior experience with Rare Disease and Pediatric drug development (Required)

  • Cell and gene therapy experience (Preferred)

  • Recent or past FDA/Health Authority experience (Highly preferred)

  • Strong background in business development

  • Expertise in current FDA, global regulatory, and medical/clinical standards

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders

  • Strong strategic thinking, risk analysis, and innovation mindset


Working Conditions:

  • Frequent phone and virtual meetings

Compensation:

💵 Annual Base Pay Range:
$186,300 – $519,000 USD

Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and role specifics.
May include bonus, incentive plans, and a comprehensive benefits package.
