Job Title: Summer Student, Analytical Research & Development (R&D)

Position Type: Full-time Summer Internship (37.5 hours per week)

Position Overview:
As a Summer Student in Analytical R&D, you will work closely with a team of scientists to assist in the development of innovative radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products. You will help with analytical method development, instrument calibration, and laboratory maintenance, playing a key role in ensuring that our research processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovative Analytical Method Development:
    Collaborate in the development of new radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals by conducting literature reviews and contributing to the development of both radioactive and non-radioactive analytical methods. You will also provide critical data for Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) and development reports.

  • Instrument Calibration & Maintenance:
    Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments to ensure they are functioning at optimal performance, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of all tests and experiments.

  • Documentation & SOP Writing:
    Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation, ensuring that all procedures are clearly written and accessible to team members for consistent and efficient research practices.

  • Laboratory Maintenance:
    Support the general maintenance and organization of the laboratory, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment that promotes efficient research and development work.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Background:
    Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field, and planning to return to studies in Fall 2025.

  • Technical Skills:
    A foundational understanding of analytical chemistry and experience with commonly used laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV spectrophotometry, FTIR, NMR) are highly desirable. A basic understanding of radiochemistry is an advantage.

  • Language Skills:
    Proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken) with strong communication skills in both languages.

  • Personal Attributes:
    A strong team player with the ability to work independently. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to produce high-quality documentation within established deadlines.

  • Availability:
    Able to commit to a full-time internship (37.5 hours per week) at our Kirkland, QC office for the duration of the summer.
