Job Purpose:

The (Sr.) Manager, Medical Affairs Analytics will support the Medical Affairs team by driving data analytics to uncover actionable medical insights that inform business decisions. This role requires developing a deep understanding of Lilly's data sources, conducting thorough analyses, and ensuring that analytic outputs align with business goals. The position also plays a key role in communicating data-driven insights to stakeholders and driving the transformation of medical affairs operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis for Medical Affairs:

  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to answer critical business questions, prioritize solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Lead analytics initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and productivity of Medical Affairs operations.
  • Identify and leverage data sources to understand Clinical Care Gaps (CCGs) and guide medical affairs planning.
  • Evaluate local data to track and address Clinical Care Gaps.
  • Use data to identify Thought Leaders (TL), Scientific Experts (SE), and Clinical Experts (CE) among healthcare professionals (HCPs) to build a robust HCP-level data infrastructure for Medical Affairs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data analysis aligns with business objectives and provides meaningful insights.

Global Collaboration:

  • Work closely with global teams to ensure that China is actively involved in developing data analytic capabilities for medical affairs.

Data Source Identification and Management:

  • Collaborate with data teams to understand and manage the data Medical Affairs has access to, ensuring it is utilized effectively.

Capability Development Support:

  • Identify opportunities to grow the Medical Affairs team’s capability in data and analytics by sharing best practices and leading training initiatives.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that all data use complies with privacy laws, contractual obligations, and other relevant guidelines.

Other Initiatives:

  • Lead special projects or key initiatives as required, contributing to the continuous improvement of data analytics practices within Medical Affairs.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Marketing, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of strong data analytics experience, with a business acumen in the healthcare industry and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment.
    • Proficiency in English for effective collaboration with international colleagues.
    • Solid understanding of advanced analytics techniques, such as regression, time series, and clustering.
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.

Additional Preferences:

  • Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques like AI, machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and predictive analytics.
  • Experience working with third-party patient-level claims data.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong competence in coding languages (e.g., R, SAS, SQL).
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from executives to associates.
