Job Overview:

The Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Program under the supervision of the Ambulatory/Specialty Pharmacy Manager and Vice President of Pharmacy Services. This role includes developing and implementing medication use policies, ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy practice standards, and managing Specialty Pharmacy services to optimize patient outcomes. The manager will provide leadership to Specialty Pharmacists and Technicians and ensure that the program meets all regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement, and maintain disease/drug therapy management programs for safe, appropriate, and cost-effective drug therapy.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures in line with URAC/ACHC standards.
  • Coordinate clinical pharmacy activities with a focus on drug monitoring, pharmacoeconomics, and patient outcomes.
  • Launch clinical initiatives aimed at improving patient care and managing drug expenses.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Committees and provide pharmacy insights on quality issues.
  • Supervise Specialty Clinical Pharmacists and Technician Navigators, offering performance feedback and coaching.
  • Develop education and competency modules for staff and facilitate their professional growth.
  • Support 340B savings and the growth of specialty pharmacy services.
  • Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Ohio Board of Pharmacy license.
  • 4-5 years of progressive leadership pharmacy experience, with a focus on Specialty Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent sitting, reading, and thinking/reasoning.
  • Occasional walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of hands.
  • Rarely requires lifting over 50 lbs or climbing.
