Job Overview

The Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Manager at TriHealth will oversee and lead the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Program. This role is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy for specialty pharmacy patients. The manager will also evaluate, monitor, and coordinate clinical pharmacy services to optimize patient outcomes, provide leadership to specialty pharmacists and technicians, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Program Management: Establish and implement disease/drug therapy management programs to ensure safe and cost-effective drug therapy.
  • Policy Development: Create and enforce policies and procedures for clinical pharmacy services in compliance with URAC/ACHC and other standards.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee drug monitoring, clinical pathways, pharmacoeconomics, and patient outcomes using detailed reporting systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with medical and clinical pharmacy staff to implement initiatives aimed at improving patient care and managing drug expenses across the network.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in Quality Assurance Committees to address pharmacy-related issues in patient care.
  • Education & Training: Oversee the creation of educational materials for pharmacy and non-pharmacy staff. Provide education to healthcare professionals and patients regarding rational drug therapy.
  • Supervision: Direct supervision of Specialty Clinical Pharmacists and Technician Navigators. Provide coaching and feedback, set goals, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Growth Support: Promote the growth of specialty pharmacy services, including maximizing 340B savings.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Licensed with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
  • 4-5 years of progressive leadership pharmacy experience, particularly in Specialty Pharmacy with a focus on Clinical Pharmacy
