Position Overview:

Johnson & Johnson is seeking two highly motivated Senior Scientists to join the Cell and Genetic Medicines Discovery team. These roles are critical to advancing CAR-T cell therapy research, with a focus on viral vector engineering, production, and analytics.

You’ll apply your scientific expertise to drive innovation in vector design, vector manufacturing, and analytical methods that will impact the future of CAR-T therapy development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply deep expertise in vector engineering, virology, and molecular biology to CAR-T platform and pipeline development.

  • Conduct:

    • Vector screening

    • Vector packaging optimization

    • Viral vector production

  • Perform analytical quantification of viral particles, including:

    • Protein and PCR-based assays

    • Flow cytometry for potency testing

    • Vector Copy Number (VCN) analysis

  • Optimize processes to improve viral titers and purity.

  • Support development of novel vector characterization assays.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and deliver reliable, reproducible data.

  • Present research findings to internal teams and stakeholders.

  • Stay current with scientific advancements and apply them in a fast-paced team setting.

  • Ensure compliance with GLP and EHS protocols.

  • Maintain meticulous records in electronic lab notebooks.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field
    OR

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant industry experience

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Significant experience in:

    • Enveloped viruses

    • Viral vector engineering, production, and characterization

  • Proficiency in:

    • Molecular biology techniques

    • Mammalian cell culture

    • Flow cytometry

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective team collaboration and communication.

  • Accurate record-keeping and scientific documentation skills.

  • Strong scientific writing and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with high-throughput workflows and assay development.


Compensation:

Anticipated Base Pay Range:
💲**$105,000 – $169,050 USD**
