The Evidera – Patient-Centered Research (PCR) group focuses on patient experience and insights to support product development, including studies on burden of illness, patient outcomes, adherence, and treatment preferences.


Position Summary

The Senior Research Director is a recognized expert in direct-to-patient observational research, particularly in survey-based studies with high scientific visibility.
They lead scientific excellence, mentor research teams, and contribute to Evidera’s strategic, financial, and business growth.
The ideal candidate maintains a strong publication record, provides senior-level mentorship, and represents Evidera as a thought leader in patient-centered research.


Key Responsibilities

1. Research Project Leadership

  • Develop and maintain an individual research portfolio within the PCR organization.

  • Ensure scientific quality and accuracy of client deliverables.

  • Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and project timelines.

  • Develop proposals ensuring scientific integrity and strategic alignment with client goals.

2. Scientific Leadership & Innovation

  • Serve as an internal expert and consultant on patient-centered research and regulatory methodologies.

  • Maintain high external visibility through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and conferences.

  • Provide oversight for quantitative and qualitative analyses; interpret findings and guide project teams.

  • Drive scientific innovation and excellence across the PCR division.

  • Sustain an established line of research in health preference and patient outcomes.

3. Strategic & Consulting Leadership

  • Contribute to defining the scientific direction and strategic goals of the PCR organization.

  • Lead high-level consultations with regulatory authorities and scientific boards.

  • Develop innovative scientific strategies and collaborative client projects.

  • Partner across Evidera business units to provide integrated research solutions.

  • Support business development through client outreach and proposal support.

4. Managerial & Mentorship Responsibilities

  • Participate in recruitment and onboarding of junior to mid-level scientific staff.

  • Supervise mid- to senior-level researchers and ensure continued scientific growth within the team.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to maintain high scientific quality standards.

  • Establish benchmarks of research excellence and ensure adherence to organizational standards.


Education and Experience Requirements

Qualification

Experience Requirement

Ph.D. in health outcomes, epidemiology, psychology, or related field

10+ years experience

Master’s degree (MA/MS) in a related discipline

15+ years experience

  • Proven expertise in patient-centered outcomes or observational research.

  • Significant experience in consulting, both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and scientific leadership.

  • Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects across global teams.


Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills.

  • Advanced networking and business development capabilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Familiarity with SAS or equivalent statistical software.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
