    Job Purpose

    To be a part of the protein science team, contributing to protein expression, purification, and characterization.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Protein Expression & Purification:

      • Conduct E. coli protein expression and purification processes.
      • Utilize AKTA Pure & AKTA Avant systems for protein purification and process development.
      • Perform affinity, ion-exchange, HIC chromatography methods, column packing, and tangential flow filtration.

    2. Protein Characterization & Techniques:

      • Work on protein characterization using various techniques like HPLC, Western blotting, and ELISA.
      • Carry out protein analysis and ensure high-quality, reproducible results.

    3. Documentation & Lab Notebooks:

      • Maintain meticulous records of experiments and results in detailed lab notebooks.
      • Ensure proper documentation of experimental procedures and outcomes.

    4. Bioinformatics & Data Handling:

      • Basic knowledge of bioinformatics tools is an added advantage for data analysis.

    Educational Qualification

    • M.Sc/M.Tech or equivalent qualifications in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field.

    Technical/Functional Skills

    1. Protein Expression & Purification Expertise:

      • Experience in E. coli protein expression and purification.
      • Hands-on experience with AKTA Pure & AKTA Avant systems, and chromatographic methods (affinity, ion-exchange, HIC).

    2. Protein Characterization Skills:

      • Working knowledge of HPLC techniques for protein analysis.
      • Familiarity with Western blotting, ELISA, and other protein characterization techniques.

    3. Documentation & Lab Notebooks:

      • Strong documentation skills, including writing detailed lab notebooks.

    4. Bioinformatics Knowledge:

      • Basic understanding of bioinformatics is a plus for data handling and analysis.

    Desirable Skills

    • Analytical Abilities:

      • Sound analytical skills to evaluate experimental results.

    • High Throughput Purification:

      • Experience in high-throughput small scale and medium-scale purification using liquid handling systems.

    • Industry Experience:

      • Biotechnology industrial experience is a plus.

    Experience

    • 2-4 years of experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
