📝 Role Summary:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) serves as a scientific and clinical expert responsible for engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs), opinion leaders (OLs), and internal stakeholders to communicate accurate, unbiased information on J&J's dermatology pipeline and approved therapies. The Sr. MSL contributes to the scientific strategy, research support, insight gathering, and education efforts within the assigned territory.


🔍 Key Responsibilities:

📍 Strategic Planning & Relationship Building

  • Develop and maintain a territory field plan with aligned educational objectives

  • Build trust-based relationships with academic and community KOLs/HCPs

  • Execute in-person and virtual engagements with a priority on in-person interactions

  • Support the scientific exchange of information tailored to audience needs

🧪 Research & Clinical Trial Support

  • Provide support for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, and clinical operations teams

  • Attend site initiation and investigator meetings

  • Identify trial sites and support resolution of trial-related issues

💬 Scientific Exchange & Insights

  • Present complex data effectively across diverse HCP audiences

  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries

  • Gather and synthesize medical insights from field engagements

  • Share insights with internal teams to inform strategy and development

🎓 Leadership & Internal Collaboration

  • Lead or support strategic or scientific field projects

  • Participate in journal clubs, national/international congresses, team calls, and peer learning

  • Provide regional/local training support for commercial and learning teams

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across sales, marketing, MSL teams, and more

Compliance & Administration

  • Adhere to healthcare compliance, SOPs, and company policies

  • Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time
    (e.g., documentation, expense reporting)


🎓 Qualifications:

Required:

  • Advanced medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA)

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant clinical experience in dermatology or immunology

  • 2+ years of MSL or pharmaceutical industry experience (clinical, research, or fellowship accepted)

  • Experience delivering scientific presentations

  • Ability to travel 75–80%, including overnights and some weekends

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital technologies

  • Must reside in or near Indianapolis, IN or Joliet, IL

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge or experience in immunology or dermatology therapeutic areas

  • Experience with clinical trials, KOL engagement, and insight generation


💰 Compensation & Benefits:

💵 Base Salary Range:

$137,000 – $235,750

🚗 Additional Compensation:

  • Eligible for annual performance bonus (cash-based)

  • Company car provided via FLEET program
