Position Overview

Designation: Senior Medical Copy Writer

Indegene is seeking an experienced Promotional Medical Content Writer who can produce high-quality, scientifically accurate, and engaging medical content for omnichannel pharmaceutical marketing. The role requires the ability to translate complex scientific data into compelling narratives for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients across digital and offline platforms. This position supports brand messaging, enhances customer engagement, and ensures strict compliance with regulatory guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

Content Development and Strategy

  • Develop evidence-based promotional content for HCPs and patients across digital, print, video, email, social media, webinars, and sales enablement materials.

  • Translate scientific and clinical information into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate messaging.

  • Align content with brand strategy, therapeutic positioning, and omnichannel marketing objectives.

Omnichannel and Digital Marketing Support

  • Produce SEO-driven medical content for websites, blogs, and digital platforms.

  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, and digital teams to build interactive content for omnichannel campaigns, including eDetailing, virtual events, mobile applications, and AI-driven tools.

  • Contribute to the development of personalized content journeys based on audience segmentation.

Compliance and Scientific Accuracy

  • Ensure all content meets global regulatory and compliance standards (FDA, EMA, PhRMA, and regional requirements).

  • Partner with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams to secure approvals.

  • Maintain accuracy in scientific referencing and adhere to clinical guidelines.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Medical Affairs, Brand, and Sales teams to support strategic messaging.

  • Collaborate with designers, UX teams, and digital marketers to optimize content delivery and user experience.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

  • Track and analyze content performance metrics for continuous improvement.

  • Update promotional materials based on new scientific data, market trends, regulatory changes, and stakeholder feedback.


Required Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Journalism with a focus on medical writing.

  • Advanced degrees such as PhD, PharmD, or MD are preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in medical content writing within pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare communications, or medical advertising.

  • Proven experience creating HCP and patient-focused content for omnichannel campaigns.

  • Exposure to therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, immunology, or rare diseases is an advantage.

  • Experience working with US and EU markets and their approval pathways is preferred.

Technical and Soft Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical research, scientific writing, and pharmaceutical promotional guidelines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to simplify complex medical information for diverse audiences.

  • Knowledge of SEO principles, UX writing, social media content, and email automation.

  • Experience with CMS platforms, CRM tools such as Veeva or Salesforce, and analytics platforms.

  • Strong project management, organization, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
