Position Overview: Senior Medical Copy Writer

Indegene is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Copy Writer with strong expertise in promotional medical content development for omnichannel pharmaceutical marketing. The ideal candidate will combine scientific accuracy with creative communication to craft compelling content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients across digital and traditional platforms.


Key Responsibilities

1. Content Development & Strategy

  • Develop high-quality, evidence-based promotional content for HCP and patient audiences across websites, eDetailers, webinars, emails, social media, videos, brochures, and other marketing channels.

  • Translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear, engaging, and persuasive messages.

  • Align content with brand strategy, medical positioning, and omnichannel communication goals.

2. Omnichannel & Digital Marketing Support

  • Create SEO-optimized medical content for digital platforms including blogs, portals, and brand websites.

  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to design interactive content for digital ecosystems such as eDetailing modules, mobile apps, AI-led tools, and virtual events.

  • Support the development of personalized user journeys based on audience segmentation.

3. Compliance & Scientific Integrity

  • Ensure all content adheres to global regulatory and compliance standards (FDA, EMA, PhRMA, etc.).

  • Coordinate with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) teams for material approvals.

  • Maintain rigorous referencing aligned with scientific literature and clinical guidelines.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Brand, and Sales teams to ensure cohesive messaging.

  • Engage with designers, UX specialists, and digital teams to elevate content delivery and impact.

5. Content Performance & Optimization

  • Evaluate engagement metrics and optimize content based on performance insights.

  • Update deliverables based on new scientific data, market dynamics, and stakeholder feedback.


Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Journalism with a focus on medical writing.

  • Advanced degrees (PhD, MD, PharmD) are an advantage.

Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in medical writing for pharmaceutical marketing, medical communications, or healthcare advertising agencies.

  • Experience creating HCP and patient-centric promotional content for omnichannel campaigns.

  • Exposure to therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, or rare diseases is preferred.

  • Experience with US and EU regulatory environments will be an added advantage.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong understanding of scientific writing, clinical data, and pharma promotional compliance.

  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Knowledge of SEO, UX writing, email automation, and social media communication.

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, CRM tools (Veeva, Salesforce), and analytics systems.

  • Strong project management and collaboration abilities in fast-paced environments.
