Position Summary

The Senior Clinical Assistant supports analytical and laboratory activities in the Bioanalytical Research Department. Responsibilities include assisting in sample analysis, preparing solutions, maintaining documentation, performing equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with lab protocols and SOPs.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

Sample Analysis Support

  • Prepare analytical solutions as per method SOPs or study-specific documents.

  • Label samples per batch sequence and LIMS worklist prior to analysis.

  • Assist Senior Analysts in sample processing.

  • Prepare lab equipment and materials (e.g., centrifuge, evaporator, SPE assemblies) ahead of sample processing.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Receive and manage controlled forms for all activities.

  • Document equipment calibration and performance checks in relevant logbooks.

  • Maintain accurate records for solution and sample retrieval/restoration in refrigerator and deep freezer logs.

  • Record all activities in compliance with SOPs and quality standards.

  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed and signed by a Senior Analyst or Group Leader.

Research & Development Awareness

  • Understand general biosafety and emergency procedures.

  • Gain knowledge of bioanalytical concepts and clinical research relevance.

  • Learn basic chromatographic techniques and concepts like matrix effect, anticoagulants, and selectivity experiments.

  • Develop clarity on SPE cartridge and column selection.

Equipment Calibration

  • Calibrate lab equipment such as:

    • Micro-pipettes

    • Analytical balances

    • pH meters

Professional & Personal Development

  • Improve communication and professional knowledge.

  • Stay informed about organizational policies and values.

  • Maintain professional attitude, appearance, and job awareness.

  • Understand GCP and GLP principles.
