About the Role

Optum is seeking an experienced Senior Behavioral Intake Coordinator to support clinical assessment, counselling, and behavioral health coordination for diverse client populations. This role is critical in delivering timely, solution-focused behavioral support using telephonic and virtual platforms. As part of a global leader in healthcare technology, you will play an essential role in strengthening client well-being and advancing behavioral health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver virtual and telephonic counselling sessions, ensuring immediate, solution-oriented support for clients.

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and intervene appropriately based on clinical indicators.

  • Monitor client progress, modify treatment plans, and maintain ongoing therapeutic engagement.

  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely case documentation in alignment with clinical and organizational standards.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary professionals through strong written and verbal skills.

  • Participate in mandatory training, ongoing learning, and professional development initiatives.

  • Adhere strictly to confidentiality, ethical requirements, and legal standards governing behavioral health.

  • Stay updated on relevant regulatory, legislative, and clinical guideline changes.

  • Contribute actively to team discussions, problem-solving initiatives, and collaborative meetings.

  • Take initiative in supporting additional responsibilities based on business and team needs.

  • Ensure compliance with operational policies, shift requirements, and organizational directives.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in counselling, therapy, or behavioral health services.

  • Proven experience conducting telephonic and virtual counselling sessions.

  • Fluency in English; additional multilingual abilities are an advantage.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
