    Job Purpose

    To conduct and assist in pre-formulation and phase-appropriate formulation development activities to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Pre-formulation & Physicochemical Assessment:

      • Conduct pre-formulation studies to assess the physicochemical properties of new chemical entities (NCEs).

    2. Formulation Development & Feasibility Studies:

      • Lead formulation development for pre-clinical pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacology (PD), and toxicology (safety) studies.

    3. Oral Drug Product Development:

      • Assist in developing oral drug products, including solutions, suspensions, tablets, and capsules for clinical studies.

    4. Solid State Characterization:

      • Have a strong understanding of solid-state characterization of drug substances.

    5. Biopharmaceutical Risk Assessment:

      • Perform biopharmaceutical risk assessments using in vitro, in silico, and in vivo tools for both drug substances and products.

    6. Analytical Tools & Instruments:

      • Work with and have knowledge of basic analytical tools and instruments used in drug discovery and formulation development.

    7. Data Documentation & Reporting:

      • Record, summarize, and present experimental results. Assist in drafting scientific/technical reports.

    8. Collaboration & Cross-functional Work:

      • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, exhibiting the core values of Syngene and the department.

    Educational Qualifications & Experience

    • M. Pharm or M.S. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Industrial Pharmacy.
    • 5-8 years of relevant industrial experience in formulation development.

    Technical Skills

    1. Physicochemical Properties & Pre-formulation:

      • Understanding of physicochemical properties, pre-formulation, and formulation development.

    2. Formulation Stability & Solid State Characterization:

      • Knowledge of formulation stability studies and solid-state characterization of drug substances.

    3. Data Interpretation:

      • Ability to interpret data and provide relevant insights in formulation development.
