Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Associate in Revenue Cycle Case & Escalation Management (RCCEM) with expertise in Medical Coding to join our Chennai team. This role serves as the final escalation point for complex client issues, ensuring efficient resolution, accuracy, and consistency across cases. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in US healthcare, medical billing, or revenue cycle management and possess a strong command of medical coding systems.

This role is crucial in improving case resolution performance, driving actionable insights, and ensuring alignment with athenahealth’s service standards and value proposition.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Focus

  • Manage complex cases and escalations using Salesforce CRM.

  • Maintain consistent communication with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

  • Provide feedback to enhance service delivery, case handling, and product outcomes.

Analytical & Problem-Solving

  • Investigate and resolve complex issues by leveraging existing tools and data efficiently.

  • Identify process improvements to reduce case inflow and improve client satisfaction.

  • Analyze case data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.

Project Management & Planning

  • Develop plans with tasks, timelines, and prioritization for effective project execution.

  • Allocate tasks across teams, anticipate obstacles, and maintain quality standards.

  • Track and report progress on escalations, ensuring timely completion and transparency.

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

  • Foster continuous learning through team discussions and knowledge sharing sessions.

  • Mentor peers in escalation management, project execution, and best practices.

  • Validate work, provide constructive feedback, and guide team members on complex cases.


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in US medical billing, revenue cycle, or healthcare operations.

  • Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional interactions.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying root causes and trends.
