Purpose:

The Senior/Associate - Medical Information role is a key position within Lilly’s Global Medical Information (GMI) organization, responsible for providing timely and accurate medical information to healthcare professionals (HCPs), consumers, and payers. This position focuses on responding to unsolicited inquiries and delivering high-quality, evidence-based information across various channels. The role also contributes to the creation of medical information deliverables at product launches and ongoing product support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Medical Information Management:
    • Manage and respond to unsolicited verbal and written medical inquiries from HCPs and consumers in a prompt, accurate, and compliant manner.
    • Provide medical information deliverables including medical letters, FAQs, slide kits, literature searches, publications, and webpages.
    • Meet customer satisfaction objectives and continuously improve the customer experience at the first touchpoint (e.g., call center, digital platforms, and field-based support).
  • Strategy & Collaboration:
    • Build and manage relationships within cross-functional teams, global regions, alliance partners, and vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
    • Develop and execute medical information strategies utilizing customer insights to drive decisions.
    • Participate in the development of an omnichannel content strategy to deliver information to customers based on their preferences.
  • Training & Support:
    • Conduct ongoing product/disease area training for affiliates and call center partners, positioning yourself as the subject matter expert.
    • Provide staffing support at scientific congresses and serve as the Medical Information expert for specific therapeutic areas.
  • Coaching & Leadership:
    • Coach team members on specific deliverables and processes, and participate in initiatives to drive transformational changes within the team and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience, OR
    • Master’s degree in a healthcare profession, OR
    • PhD with work experience in the designated therapeutic area.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and accurately.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to various customer groups and environments.
    • Experience in literature search and reviewing scientific evidence for customer responses.
    • High-level computer skills, including proficiency in databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools (PowerPoint).
    • Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in medical information resources, content management systems, and customer interaction tools.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to assimilate and communicate large volumes of medical information in an unbiased manner.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and global projects.
  • Experience with medical information systems and analytics tools.
