Job Description:

As a Scientific Communications Specialist at Lilly, you will support the Global Scientific Communications team in producing high-quality documents for regulatory and publication purposes. This role involves editing, formatting, and ensuring compliance with international standards for documents related to medical regulatory submissions and publications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Scientific Communications Document Support

    • Editing and Quality Review: Ensure timely delivery of error-free, high-quality documents that adhere to international standards of written English. Correct grammar, style, formatting, and syntax issues, and ensure logical consistency and flow.
    • Document Finalization/Publishing Services: Produce final eCTD-compliant PDFs of regulatory documents using publishing software. Ensure all compliance requirements are met, reviewing and editing as necessary.
    • General Expectations: Maintain strong customer focus, proactively manage timelines, and coach new team members. Coordinate with vendors if activities are outsourced.
  2. Process Efficiency and Technology Advancement

    • Stay proficient in software, tools, and workflows. Use creativity to suggest process improvements, new tools, and structures to streamline team workflow and meet organizational goals.
  3. Therapeutic & Disease State Management

    • Develop and apply therapeutic knowledge relevant to the organization's projects. Stay informed about product and disease state information and apply this knowledge in activities related to document management.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate solutions to complex technical challenges with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and customers.
  • Project management and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
  • Interpersonal flexibility in varying environments.
  • High-level computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and templates.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in diverse environments.

Additional Preferences:

  • Specialized knowledge of editing and proofreading tools and techniques.
  • BELS certified professional.
  • Knowledge of medical and statistical terminology.
  • Familiarity with scientific literature search and retrieval.
  • Limited travel (up to 10%).
