Job Summary

The Regional Medical Advisor serves as the primary scientific representative of the organization to healthcare professionals and thought leaders within a defined geography and therapy area.

The role focuses on:

  • Scientific engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs)

  • Execution of medical affairs strategy

  • Medical education and evidence generation

  • Therapy-area expertise

  • Insights generation and strategic input

  • Compliance-driven scientific communication


Key Responsibilities

1. KOL Identification & Engagement

  • Identify, map, and profile key thought leaders in the assigned region and therapy area

  • Engage with:

    • Physicians

    • Pharmacists

    • Hospital administrators

    • Scientific society members

  • Build long-term scientific relationships aligned with strategic objectives


2. Medical Affairs Strategy Execution

  • Execute medical affairs plans including:

    • Medical education programs

    • Product education initiatives

    • Advisory boards

    • Pre-license scientific activities

    • Special medical projects

  • Contribute to annual Medical Affairs strategic planning


3. Scientific Expertise & Communication

  • Act as a therapy-area scientific expert

  • Discuss:

    • Clinical data

    • Treatment trends

    • Disease management practices

    • Emerging research

  • Provide proactive and reactive scientific support to healthcare professionals

  • Handle complex medical queries from physicians and stakeholders


4. Insights Generation & Strategic Input

  • Collect insights on:

    • Disease trends

    • Treatment patterns

    • Clinical unmet needs

  • Convert insights into actionable recommendations for:

    • Therapy area strategy

    • Product planning

    • Medical affairs initiatives

  • Support identification of knowledge and practice gaps


5. Evidence Generation & Publications

  • Collaborate with KOLs on:

    • Case studies and case series

    • Meta-analyses

    • Therapy-specific reviews

    • Patient-reported outcomes

  • Support publication in peer-reviewed journals

  • Contribute to scientific literature development in the therapy area


6. Training & Internal Capability Building

  • Develop and implement training plans for:

    • Sales teams

    • Marketing teams

  • Ensure timely dissemination of scientific updates across internal stakeholders


7. Scientific Representation

  • Represent the organization at:

    • Internal scientific forums

    • External conferences and medical platforms

  • Serve as a trusted scientific partner in the medical community


8. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to:

    • COBE (Code of Business Ethics)

    • Company compliance guidelines

  • Ensure approval of:

    • Medical and promotional materials

    • Physician and patient education content

  • Maintain ethical and regulatory compliance in all activities


Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • MBBS with:

    • Full-time postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years) in any medical discipline, OR

    • MBBS with MBA from a reputed institute


Experience Requirements

  • Fresh postgraduate or up to 2 years of experience in field-based Medical Affairs

  • Prior exposure to scientific engagement activities preferred
