Job Summary:

The Inpatient Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Clinical Pharmacy Department to ensure the safe and appropriate processing and delivery of medications to patients. This includes reviewing and verifying medication orders, performing final checks on medication dispensing, and monitoring patient drug therapies. The pharmacist also provides drug information and promotes medication safety. The pharmacist supervises pharmacy technicians and may assume the essential responsibilities of the pharmacy manager in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure the safe and appropriate processing and delivery of medications to patients.
  • Review and verify medication orders; complete the final check for medication dispensing.
  • Monitor patient drug therapies to ensure safe and effective use.
  • Provide drug information and promote medication safety within the hospital.
  • Support and supervise pharmacy technicians in the department.
  • In the absence of the pharmacy manager, assume responsibilities and perform managerial duties as needed.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other relevant regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree (required).
  • Certification/Licensure:
    • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in the state of Ohio, as required by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time schedule (40 hours per week).
