Nurse Practitioner – Gastroenterology (IBD) | UCLA Health – Los Angeles, CA

Job Summary:

UCLA Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its renowned Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) in Westwood, Los Angeles. This role is ideal for experienced NPs who thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and are passionate about gastroenterology, patient education, and chronic disease management. The NP will play a pivotal role in managing care for IBD patients, monitoring biologic therapies, and supporting clinical trials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and follow-up for IBD patients requiring medication monitoring and urgent evaluations

  • Educate patients and families on IBD treatment, health maintenance, and medication adherence

  • Answer patient queries via phone and manage ongoing communication

  • Communicate test results effectively and coordinate multidisciplinary care

  • Assist with IBD clinical trials: patient screening, history & physical exams, and data entry

  • Support ordering and renewal of biologic medications

  • Liaise with referring physicians for coordinated care


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license (NP2 level) in California

  • Prior experience in gastroenterology or chronic disease management preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with biologics, patient education, and multidisciplinary care coordination

  • Ability to support clinical trial functions and research documentation

  • Compassionate, proactive, and patient-focused approach
