Evidence-Based Practice Specialist/Nurse Scientist – UCLA Health, Los Angeles

Job Summary:
UCLA Health is seeking an experienced and research-driven Evidence-Based Practice Specialist/Nurse Scientist to lead the advancement of nursing science, clinical inquiry, and evidence-based practice (EBP) across our healthcare system. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with clinical nurses and leaders to translate evidence into practice, mentor scholarly projects, and contribute to academic nursing through publications, grants, and conference presentations.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Work Mode: On-site (Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm)
Salary Range: $112,900 – $256,900 annually


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support evidence-based practice initiatives across UCLA Health system sites

  • Collaborate with clinical nursing teams to improve patient care using evidence-based frameworks

  • Mentor staff in conducting and disseminating EBP and research projects

  • Assist in development of scholarly writing: abstracts, IRB applications, grants, and manuscripts

  • Support Magnet Recognition documentation and submissions

  • Promote a culture of inquiry and continuous improvement in nursing practice

  • Contribute to internal and external professional presentations and publications


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN or PhD/DNP strongly preferred)

  • Current RN license in the state of California

  • Strong background in research, clinical inquiry, and evidence-based practice

  • Prior experience mentoring nurses in clinical research and scholarly writing

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with grant writing, IRB processes, and academic publishing

  • Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Experience supporting Magnet Recognition is a plus
