Role Overview

The Medical Writer – Specialist will play a key role in developing scientifically accurate and creatively engaging content across multiple platforms. You’ll collaborate with global creative teams to transform complex medical information into impactful communication for healthcare professionals, patients, and consumers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop original, creative content across digital and print mediums.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the brand, disease area, and therapeutic landscape.

  • Ensure all content adheres to brand strategy, tone, and compliance standards.

  • Translate complex medical and scientific documents (e.g., clinical studies, monographs, publications) into engaging, easy-to-understand messaging.

  • Demonstrate superior writing, referencing, and annotating skills aligned with client MLR submission requirements.

  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring timely submission and revisions of copy/concepts.

  • Support senior writers or creative teams in producing high-quality, medically accurate materials.

  • Maintain and manage content matrices, core claims documentation, and support omnichannel content development.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.

  • Stay updated with medical, regulatory, and advertising communication trends to continuously improve quality and creativity.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 8–11 years in healthcare communication agencies (AMA experience preferred).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Portfolio: Demonstrated expertise in creating diverse communication materials (sales aids, websites, social media, direct mail, etc.) for multiple audiences (HCPs, patients, consumers).

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Familiarity with AMA Style Guide (certification not mandatory).

    • Proficiency in referencing, annotating, and MLR submission standards.

    • Strong conceptual ability and creative thinking skills.

    • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

    • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with diverse teams and clients.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of craftsmanship.
