Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical affairs professional responsible for providing scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise in support of Organon’s Dermatology programs.

This role serves as a strategic scientific partner to healthcare professionals, scientific experts, managed markets stakeholders, and healthcare decision-makers through balanced scientific exchange and evidence-based medical engagement. The MSL will support clinical research collaborations, medical education, scientific communications, and strategic field insights to advance dermatology initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess deep scientific expertise, strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with:
    • Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)
    • Clinical investigators
    • Academic institutions
    • Professional medical organizations
    • Patient advocacy groups
    • Payers / managed market stakeholders
    • Healthcare decision-makers and key strategic partners
  • Conduct balanced peer-to-peer scientific dialogue in alignment with organizational medical and compliance standards.
  • Deliver accurate, evidence-based clinical and scientific information supporting appropriate therapeutic use and product differentiation.

Therapeutic & Scientific Expertise

  • Maintain advanced knowledge and expertise in:
    • Dermatology
    • Clinical disease management
    • Scientific literature interpretation
    • Therapeutic developments
    • Emerging clinical evidence
  • Present scientific data, clinical evidence, and therapeutic insights to external stakeholders.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information inquiries while ensuring full compliance with internal documentation and medical governance policies.

Clinical Research & Scientific Collaboration

  • Identify and support opportunities for:
    • Pre-clinical research collaborations
    • Clinical investigator engagement
    • Post-marketing evidence generation
    • Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs)
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development teams on:
    • Investigator identification and selection
    • Site engagement
    • Relationship management
    • Recruitment and site performance support
  • Contribute to scientific communication planning and implementation.

Internal Medical Support

  • Provide scientific training and educational support for:
    • Commercial teams
    • Cross-functional internal stakeholders
    • Medical affairs colleagues
  • Support:
    • Speaker training initiatives
    • Advisory board scientific activities
    • Development of medical-to-medical communication materials
    • Scientific strategy execution

Conferences & External Representation

  • Represent the organization at:
    • National medical conferences
    • Regional scientific meetings
    • Dermatology congresses
    • Medical information booth activities
  • Gather real-world clinical insights from HCPs and external stakeholders to inform internal medical strategy and business planning.

Required Qualifications

Education

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • PharmD
  • PhD
  • MD
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Equivalent advanced scientific/medical qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:
    • Clinical practice and/or
    • Pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry

Preferred Experience:

  • Dermatology
  • Allergy / Immunology
