Job Description

Role Overview:

The Medical Data Analyst will be responsible for performing detailed data abstraction, ensuring high accuracy in data entry, and maintaining quality assurance standards in alignment with project requirements. The role also involves contributing to team activities, leveraging expertise in medical terminology, and adhering to stringent security protocols.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management and Curation

  • Perform complex data abstraction and data entry based on project and disease-specific requirements.
  • Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, electronic medical records, and data capture systems.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training, and learning sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Document and report time spent on tasks, completed audits, and other project activities as directed.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (minimum 95% accuracy or higher based on project guidelines).
  • Reconcile errors promptly based on feedback from Quality Analysts.
  • Participate in quarterly Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) assessments to ensure consistent quality.

Special Projects

  • Lead or contribute to client-specific initiatives or special assignments as directed by the management.

Security Responsibilities

  • Protect login credentials and maintain system security by ensuring systems are locked when not in use.
  • Avoid unauthorized applications and ensure no Protected Health Information (PHI) is saved on unauthorized domains.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Medical Sciences: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, or MD.
  • 0–5 years of experience in clinical or non-clinical roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Presentable and professional demeanor.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of medical terminology and data abstraction processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications and electronic medical records systems.
