Job Description – Medical Coding Specialist:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder / Senior Coder with active coding certifications such as CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in CPT and ICD diagnosis coding, ensuring accurate and compliant coding of medical records in alignment with governmental and insurance regulations.
As part of a fast-evolving healthcare environment, you will leverage your coding expertise to deliver high-quality solutions, collaborate across teams, and contribute to operational excellence in patient care and revenue cycle optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT coding standards.
Review patient charts and medical records to validate coding accuracy and compliance.
Communicate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation issues.
Investigate complex or unusual cases to ensure correct code assignment.
Monitor and update codes to maintain compliance with current regulations.
Review previous day’s batches for evaluation and coding quality assurance.
Requirements:
Education: Any graduate degree.
Experience: 3–7 years of proven experience in medical coding.
Certifications: Successful completion of AHIMA or AAPC certification program.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding standards.
Skilled in assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Flexibility to work from office or home as per business needs.
