Job Overview
Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Medical Advisor to join its Medical Services team at the corporate office in Mumbai. This role is critical in providing scientific leadership, medical strategy, and disease-area expertise to support business objectives while ensuring ethical, compliant, and evidence-based medical engagement.
The Medical Advisor will act as a core scientific partner to cross-functional teams, driving medical excellence across product life cycles, regulatory interactions, medical education, real-world evidence generation, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership
Serve as a core scientific member of the cross-functional franchise team and act as a disease-area expert for assigned therapeutic areas.
Provide scientific enablement and strategic medical input to support business clusters and franchise goals.
Develop insight-driven medical plans aligned with overall franchise and organizational strategy.
Product & Lifecycle Management
Lead medical contributions for new product ideation, evaluation, and therapeutic rationale.
Support regulatory submissions by preparing scientific justifications, SEC presentations, and defending products during SEC meetings.
Drive pre-launch and launch medical activities, including product monographs, training manuals, CME content, and medical slide decks.
Medical Education & Training
Design and execute franchise-level medical education programs and advisory board meetings.
Deliver scientific training to marketing and sales teams to ensure accurate and compliant communication of medical information.
Devise and implement training plans to ensure continuous flow of latest medical developments to internal stakeholders.
Medical Review & Compliance
Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials in alignment with internal approval processes and regulatory timelines.
Ensure compliance with Indian regulations, including MCI Code of Ethics, UCPMP, and Drugs and Cosmetics Act provisions.
Respond to scientific queries from healthcare professionals and internal teams with accuracy and scientific rigor.
KOL Engagement & External Collaboration
Identify, engage, and build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
Generate insights on disease trends, treatment patterns, and unmet needs to shape therapeutic strategies.
Represent the organization on internal and external scientific platforms.
Evidence Generation & Research
Plan and execute real-world clinical research, publications, meta-analyses, case studies, and patient-reported outcome initiatives.
Collaborate with thought leaders to publish scientific data in reputed national and international journals.
Identify data gaps, practice gaps, and knowledge gaps, and recommend evidence-generation strategies and special projects.
Educational Qualifications
MD in Pharmacology (mandatory)
Experience Requirements
1–3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry or research organization
Experience as a Medical Advisor or Senior Medical Advisor (Head Office role preferred)
Exposure to medical writing, clinical trial methodologies, research design, and ICH-GCP is an advantage
