Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology to support medical and scientific initiatives across the oncology portfolio in India. This is a non-promotional, field-based role focused on scientific exchange, medical education, clinical research support, and stakeholder engagement with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

The role requires strong therapeutic knowledge in oncology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the Medical Affairs strategy and operational plans aligned with oncology therapeutic objectives in India.

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, investigators, and healthcare professionals.

  • Deliver fair, balanced, and evidence-based scientific information on current and pipeline oncology products to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Plan and facilitate advisory board meetings, scientific roundtables, investigator meetings, and educational initiatives.

  • Support clinical research activities, including investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and real-world evidence programs, in collaboration with R&D and Clinical Operations teams.

  • Serve as the local medical and scientific expert for oncology products, disease states, and emerging clinical data.

  • Provide ongoing scientific training and educational support to internal teams including Medical Affairs and Commercial functions.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all medical activities in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage assigned medical affairs budgets and ensure adherence to ethical, compliance, and governance standards.

  • Act as a local representative for global medical functions such as Pharmacovigilance, HEOR, and Medical Information.

  • Travel extensively within the assigned territory, with approximately 60 percent field engagement.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: MD or MBBS from a recognized medical institution.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in a Medical Affairs or Medical Science Liaison role.

    • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research industry is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of oncology therapeutic areas and clinical development processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze, interpret, and communicate complex clinical and scientific data.

  • Proven experience working cross-functionally in a matrix organization.

  • Excellent presentation, scientific communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • High proficiency with digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office and medical information systems.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
