Role Overview

The Principal Medical Affairs Specialist is a senior-level medical expert responsible for shaping and executing evidence-based medical strategies across therapeutic portfolios. This role provides advanced scientific leadership, strategic guidance, and cross-functional medical input to support business growth, regulatory excellence, and clinical adoption.

The position requires deep domain expertise, strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to influence decision-making at both regional and global levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate mastery of clinical and scientific data related to Medtronic technologies, ensuring accurate and impactful scientific communication.

  • Develop and implement integrated, evidence-based Medical Affairs strategic plans aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Provide expert medical input to cross-functional teams including General Management, Global Strategy, Portfolio Management, R&D, Business Development, Licensing, and Marketing.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), professional societies, payers, and healthcare institutions.

  • Support the development and articulation of clear, objective value propositions for patients, healthcare providers, payers, government agencies, and HTA bodies.

  • Drive safe and effective product utilization through scientific education and adoption initiatives.

  • Provide medical oversight for product lifecycle management, including launch readiness and expansion strategies.

  • Conduct educational workshops, seminars, and continuing medical education (CME) programs for physicians, pharmacists, and scientists.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Bridge communication between sales, marketing, and clinical teams (for licensed practitioners).

  • Mentor junior professionals and lead major cross-functional projects with high organizational impact.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MBBS / MD / DM / BDS / MDS (Mandatory).

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Strategy, or related domain.

  • Candidates with advanced degrees require a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of industry practices, healthcare systems, and medical device regulatory environments.

  • Strong experience in evidence generation, clinical data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects with autonomy and limited oversight.

  • High-level communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
