Job Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Market Development Manager – Food Safety to lead market strategy and commercial growth initiatives within the food and beverage sector. This role is responsible for driving market development, strengthening brand equity, supporting sales excellence, and expanding the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD) portfolio across India and the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute market development strategies for the food and beverage sector in alignment with strategic plans and annual operating goals.

  • Identify and evaluate high-growth opportunities across food safety, testing, and regulatory-driven workflows.

  • Collaborate with product marketing, product management, and application teams to position high-value applications and differentiated solutions.

  • Contribute to product roadmaps by providing market insights and recommending new products or enhancements.

  • Build and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to establish thought leadership.

  • Support regulatory method inclusion and compliance-driven adoption of CMD solutions.

  • Provide domain expertise and strategic support to the commercial sales organization at key customer accounts.

  • Design and deliver commercial and technical sales training to enhance solution positioning and value-based selling.

  • Develop market-facing scientific content, marketing collateral, and technical literature to strengthen brand presence.

  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, exhibitions, and scientific forums through presentations and engagements.

  • Track, analyze, and report market trends, competitive intelligence, customer insights (VOC), and revenue performance.

  • Submit regular reports on market development activities, KPIs, and business impact to senior management.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in food safety, food & beverage markets, market development, marketing, or business development.

  • Strong background in analytical technologies, chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related scientific instrumentation.

  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders in matrix and cross-functional organizations.

  • Demonstrated success in regional or vertical market strategy development.


Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related discipline (mandatory).

  • Master’s degree, PhD, or MBA is highly preferred.
