Role Overview:
We are seeking a Manager, R&D Projects to lead and manage a dedicated cost out / VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) division team in our Hyderabad facility. The position demands strategic planning, team leadership, and successful execution of high-impact projects to deliver significant cost savings while ensuring executional excellence and fostering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver $5M cost savings in the current calendar year and develop a $10M+ pipeline for the following year.

  • Apply ideation and cost-reduction methodologies including:

    • Product cost analysis

    • Should-cost modeling

    • Costed BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis

    • Site material spend analysis

    • Product teardown and benchmarking

    • VAVE methodology

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate multi-functional project and design teams.

  • Drive execution excellence to ensure projects are completed on schedule and with superior quality.

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders, provide periodic updates, and escalate issues requiring support.

  • Identify process gaps and implement standard work and PPI (Practical Process Improvement) systems.

  • Manage annual operating plans including resourcing and project expense forecasting.

  • Establish a proficiency matrix and manage resource loading effectively.

  • Mentor and guide team members for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.

  • 10+ years of overall experience with a strong track record in sustenance and cost out project execution.

  • Minimum 3 years in managing multiple project teams handling 50+ projects simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to deliver over $5M in cost savings across career span.

  • Experience in VAVE project strategy, planning, and execution.

  • Proficiency with gate and technical review processes.

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and engineering compliance requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Demonstrated capability in influencing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
