🎯 Job Purpose

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical professional specializing in the Neuroscience therapeutic area. The MSL serves as a scientific expert, engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and researchers to facilitate scientific exchange, deliver medical insights, and support Lilly’s research and strategy.

By sharing accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date scientific information, the MSL helps shape the future of healthcare and enhances Lilly’s mission of improving lives.


🧠 Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain and Communicate Deep Scientific Knowledge

  • Continuously update and expand knowledge in the Neuroscience therapeutic area.

  • Provide credible, evidence-based responses to complex scientific queries.

  • Serve as a trusted and unbiased scientific resource for HCPs and internal teams.

2. Excel at Customer Engagement

  • Conduct field-based, customer-facing interactions with scientific experts and healthcare professionals.

  • Engage in mutually beneficial, two-way scientific dialogues using strong emotional intelligence and listening skills.

  • Deliver advanced disease-state and product information in response to customer needs.

  • Facilitate connections between experts and internal teams for collaborations or research opportunities.

3. Strategic Vision and Leadership

  • Analyze and synthesize insights gathered from scientific discussions.

  • Communicate key clinical insights and unmet needs to internal stakeholders.

  • Apply creative problem-solving and principle-based decision-making in planning and execution.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence medical strategy and planning.

4. Territory Ownership

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan, focusing on high-priority scientific engagement.

  • Demonstrate analytical thinking, planning, and prioritization to ensure efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.

  • Travel up to 80% within Southern and Western India; occasional weekend work may be required.


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Advanced degree in Health Sciences (MBBS / MD / PhD) required.

  • Preference for candidates with Medical Degree and/or Neuroscience therapeutic area experience.

Experience

  • Prior MSL experience or field-based scientific engagement with KOLs is highly desirable.

  • Experience addressing complex medical information needs.

  • Demonstrated success in professional networking and relationship-building.

  • Understanding of health systems, academic institutions, and medical education processes.

🧭 Additional Information
