Role Summary
This is a leadership role in Business Intelligence and Commercial Analytics, responsible for managing a team of analysts who deliver dashboards, reports, and insights to support commercial decision-making. The role combines people management, advanced analytics, strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Analytics Delivery
Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of multiple analytics projects
Deliver high-quality dashboards, reports, and insights aligned to business priorities
Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical solutions
Balance hands-on analytics work with team oversight and technical guidance
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define analytics requirements
Ensure outputs are actionable and aligned with business value creation
Data & Reporting Management
Build and maintain dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire)
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting systems
Promote data governance, standard definitions, and reporting standards
Improve automation, efficiency, and scalability of reporting processes
Deliver executive-level summaries and decision-support insights
Process Improvement & Strategy
Identify opportunities to streamline analytics workflows
Standardize reporting frameworks and documentation practices
Drive measurable business impact through insights and recommendations
Establish governance for analytics delivery and quality control
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Intelligence analysts
Build a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Guide skill development in analytics, storytelling, and business partnering
Allocate work, set priorities, and monitor team performance
Support career growth and capability building
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or related field
Master’s preferred (or equivalent experience considered)
Experience Required
10+ years in analytics, preferably in commercial/sales environments (CRO or life sciences preferred)
5+ years in leadership roles managing Business Intelligence teams
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in:
SQL
Python or R
BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire)
Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, modeling, automation)
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
Strong data visualization and dashboard design skills
