Job Overview

As a Korean Language Quality Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring and enhancing the linguistic quality of IQVIA’s global translation output. You will collaborate with the Language Quality Specialist Manager and Head of Quality and Compliance to oversee quality processes for multilingual projects, manage vendor performance, and strengthen IQVIA’s global quality management system. Your contribution will directly impact the consistency, accuracy, and professionalism of translated deliverables across international teams.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Quality Monitoring & Improvement

  • Initiate Quality Feedback Reports (QFRs) and Improvement Plans for selected linguists, coordinating with Project Managers (PMs), internal linguists, external reviewers, and Talent Managers.

  • Analyze recurring language quality issues and develop targeted global and local improvement strategies in collaboration with project management and quality teams.

  • Support PMs and Talent Managers in anticipating and resolving quality concerns before escalation.

🔹 Performance Management & Resource Oversight

  • Identify and recommend resource promotions or demotions based on performance metrics and quality trends.

  • Conduct periodic analysis of resource performance and language quality data.

  • Track and interpret edit distance metrics to assess translation accuracy and productivity, proposing enhancements to improve linguistic quality.

🔹 Quality System Development

  • Implement and drive the global language quality strategy, including the deployment of tools for outsourced translation monitoring.

  • Collaborate with the Terminology Coordinator to ensure creation, maintenance, and consistency of linguistic assets (e.g., termbases, glossaries).

  • Contribute to building a robust Quality System, including drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to language quality.

  • Participate in the development of best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of IQVIA’s Language Quality framework.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience:

    • 3–5 years in Language Quality Management, Linguistic QA, or Multilingual Project Management.

    • Proven experience in managing cross-functional and cross-cultural language projects.

  • Technical & Professional Skills:

    • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational abilities.

    • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

    • Solid understanding of Multilingual Quality Monitoring systems and metrics.

    • Proficiency in quality tools, linguistic review platforms, and translation management systems (TMS).

  • Interpersonal & Cognitive Skills:

    • Strong mediation and negotiation abilities in multicultural environments.

    • Ability to multitask, adapt rapidly to shifting priorities, and maintain focus under pressure.

    • High level of commitment, accountability, and motivation to uphold linguistic standards.

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or equivalent professional experience.


Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of keyboard and computer systems requiring repetitive motion.

  • Regular verbal communication through calls and meetings requiring clear and accurate speech.

  • Extended periods of sitting and concentration for linguistic review and data analysis tasks.
