Job Overview

The Language Quality Specialist (Korean) plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing translation quality across a global network of external linguistic suppliers within the life sciences and healthcare domain. Working closely with the Language Quality Specialist Manager and the Head of Quality and Compliance, this role focuses on monitoring linguistic performance, driving continuous quality improvement, and supporting a robust global quality management framework.

The position requires strong expertise in multilingual quality monitoring, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven quality analysis to ensure consistent, high-quality language deliverables across global projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage Quality Feedback Reports and Language Quality Improvement Plans for selected linguistic resources

  • Collaborate with project managers, internal linguists, external reviewers, and talent managers to address and resolve quality-related issues

  • Analyze recurring language quality gaps and develop global and local improvement strategies in partnership with quality and project management teams

  • Support talent management and project teams in proactively identifying and mitigating translation quality risks

  • Evaluate linguistic performance and recommend resource promotion or demotion based on quality metrics

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of language quality trends and supplier performance

  • Monitor and interpret edit distance metrics to improve translation consistency and accuracy

  • Support and implement global language quality strategies and tools for outsourced translation quality monitoring

  • Work closely with terminology and language asset teams to ensure accurate creation and maintenance of linguistic resources

  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and optimization of language quality SOPs and quality systems

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, best practice development, and process enhancements

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Language Quality Specialist or in a comparable multilingual quality management role

  • Higher education in translation, linguistics, language studies, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Korean, with excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Strong understanding of multilingual quality monitoring processes and language quality evaluation frameworks

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, cross-cultural environments

  • Proven analytical, organizational, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Effective mediation, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities

  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and motivation

Technical and Communication Skills

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with global, cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency in quality reporting tools, linguistic metrics, and performance monitoring systems

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Prolonged use of computer systems and keyboards involving repetitive motion

  • Regular participation in virtual meetings and professional communication requiring clear speech and comprehension

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing job duties
