Role Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Applications Specialist – Cell Biology and Cell Analysis to support advanced cell-based workflows and customer-driven scientific solutions. This hybrid role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement, focusing on developing, demonstrating, and optimizing integrated workflows across cell culture, cell analysis, and cell engineering applications. The position plays a critical role in driving scientific adoption, translational research, and commercial success across India and regional markets.
Experience Required
Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in applications support, technical consulting, or laboratory research within cell biology or cell analysis domains
Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a closely related discipline
Equivalent advanced laboratory research experience may be considered
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and showcase end-to-end workflows for cell culture, cell-based assays, genome editing, cell engineering, and cell therapy applications
Conduct live demonstrations, technical workshops, and hands-on customer training in laboratory and hybrid environments
Identify customer scientific challenges and support method development, protocol optimization, and feasibility assessments
Collaborate with business development and product management teams to strengthen solution positioning and support customer conversion
Enable translational research collaborations and proof-of-concept studies, including data analysis and interpretation
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, application notes, training materials, and scientific content
Stay current with emerging technologies and proactively demonstrate cross-divisional integration opportunities
Ensure effective customer onboarding, post-demonstration follow-up, and long-term workflow adoption
Required Technical Expertise
Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, including stem cells and advanced cell models
Strong expertise in gene editing technologies, PCR and qPCR, multi-color flow cytometry, imaging, and cell analysis workflows
Proven experience supporting cell-based assays and translational research environments
Familiarity with Thermo Fisher Scientific platforms and integrated solutions is highly preferred
