Job Overview
The Observability Integration Specialist plays a critical technical role within Lilly’s AIOps Center of Excellence (COE). The specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integration workflows that connect observability platforms with service management and automation tools.

This role focuses on enabling automated incident detection and remediation by integrating monitoring systems, AIOps platforms, and service management solutions. By automating operational responses and improving system connectivity, the specialist helps reduce operational disruptions and improve IT infrastructure reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain integration scripts and APIs connecting observability and AIOps platforms with enterprise monitoring tools and service management systems.
Develop automated remediation workflows and operational playbooks to resolve recurring system issues such as service restarts or resource scaling.
Configure trigger logic within AIOps platforms to automatically execute remediation workflows when notable events or root causes are detected.
Integrate monitoring systems, automation platforms, and IT service management tools to ensure seamless and secure data exchange across systems.
Support operational resilience by improving automation capabilities and reducing Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).
Collaborate with DevOps, platform engineering, and IT operations teams to support infrastructure monitoring and incident management strategies.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for integration scripts, APIs, automation workflows, and system architecture.
Continuously optimize integration performance and improve operational efficiency within the observability ecosystem.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or similar technologies used for automation and API development.
Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integration mechanisms.
Experience integrating enterprise IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management for automated incident creation and management.
Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Rundeck, or Terraform.
Knowledge of observability concepts including metrics, logs, traces, and event correlation used for monitoring distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with AIOps platforms such as Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace, or similar observability solutions.
Understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing system integration issues.
