Healthcare Collections Representative – Remote USA | Cognizant
Job Summary:
Cognizant is hiring a Healthcare Collections Representative for a full-time remote position across the U.S. In this patient-facing role, you will support hospital billing by helping patients resolve outstanding balances through empathetic communication and secure payment processing. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with 1+ year of collections experience and a commitment to patient service in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle inbound calls to resolve patient balances using credit card, check, or insurance details.
Follow HIPAA and TCPA guidelines during every patient interaction.
Document patient account updates, payment arrangements, and financial information accurately.
Request and verify account statements and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
Assist with outbound calls and other assigned administrative duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of collections or related work experience.
Knowledge of hospital or medical billing processes.
Experience with EPIC software preferred.
Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
Basic proficiency in handling financial discussions with empathy and professionalism.
