Role Overview

The Director reports directly to the Head of GSD and is a member of the GSD Leadership Team. The role provides strategic and operational leadership for GSD India, overseeing teams in Data Management, Statistics, Programming, and Medical Writing. The Director ensures high-quality delivery, fosters a unified team culture, provides coaching and career development, and partners with global functional heads for resource planning.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Scientific Leadership

  • Provide strategic and scientific guidance for clinical development, registration strategy, submissions, health authority interactions, and medical affairs/market access plans.

  • Act as a full partner to clinical and scientific leadership, influencing study design, clinical development plans, and program decisions.

  • Lead high-level decisions with global impact and drive quantitative decision-making in drug development.

Team & Operational Management

  • Manage GSD India-based employees across multiple functions and programs.

  • Oversee timesheet approvals, time-off requests, performance evaluations, and career development.

  • Collaborate with HR to resolve employee concerns.

  • Ensure clear direction, coaching, and support for team members.

  • Drive employee engagement, training, and resource allocation.

  • Accountable for quality, timelines, and deliverables from the GSD India team.

Program & Project Management

  • Lead and optimize contributions from teams on multiple programs/indications.

  • Support due diligence activities, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Oversee direct reports, contingent workers, and vendors.

  • Utilize innovative clinical trial designs and statistical methodologies.

  • Prepare or supervise preparation of statistical sections of clinical protocols.

External Representation & Collaboration

  • Interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), CROs, and represent Teva at external scientific and industry forums.

  • Maintain proficiency in therapeutic areas and competitive landscape knowledge.

  • Collaborate with global GSD teams and other strategic functions to ensure alignment and success.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Ph.D. or MS in Statistics/Biostatistics, Data-related field, or Medical Writing-related field.

  • Experience:

    • Ph.D.: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

    • MS: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in drug development, clinical research, and regulatory interactions.

  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of clinical development, trial designs, and statistical methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and influence skills across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Proven ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams and deliver results.

  • Strategic business and operational acumen.
