About the Role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Autoantibody Pipeline to support scientific engagement and strategic medical initiatives across the South-Central region. The preferred base location is Dallas, TX or Houston, TX, with coverage across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

This field-based MSL role plays a critical part in advancing Immunology research, strengthening scientific relationships, and supporting the development of transformative therapies for immune-driven diseases.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Territory Management

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, researchers, and healthcare institutions.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory strategic plan aligned with therapeutic objectives.

  • Provide balanced, evidence-based scientific communication to healthcare professionals via in-person and virtual interactions.

Medical & Clinical Support

  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries and present clinical data tailored to diverse audiences.

  • Integrate real-world evidence and scientific insights into clinical discussions.

  • Support investigator-initiated studies, research proposals, and internal/external research collaborations.

  • Participate in site feasibility, initiation, and operational support for clinical trials.

Scientific Leadership & Insights

  • Lead at least one strategic or scientific Immunology project.

  • Monitor emerging scientific trends, competitive landscapes, and disease-area innovations.

  • Contribute to team learning through journal clubs, scientific meetings, and peer collaboration.

  • Provide medical insights to cross-functional partners to inform strategic decisions.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines.

  • Complete administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation accurately and within timelines.

  • Support training programs for field teams and collaborate across medical and commercial functions.

  • Attend scientific congresses, advisory boards, and stakeholder events as a J&J scientific representative.

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 70% travel across the assigned South-Central territory.


Required Qualifications

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD with 1–2 years of experience in hematology, immunology, or auto/alloimmune disease (clinical or research).

  • 1–2 years of MSL experience, ideally within rare diseases.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital collaboration tools.

  • Strong communication, scientific interpretation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage field-based responsibilities independently.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting rare disease product launches.

  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering scientific presentations to diverse clinical audiences.

  • Strong understanding of clinical research operations and real-world evidence integration.
