Executive Medical Director – Cardiology (Remote, USA)

Job Summary:
Syneos Health is seeking an accomplished Executive Medical Director – Cardiology to lead the medical and clinical development functions of cardiovascular studies across a global portfolio. This remote leadership role offers the opportunity to drive innovation in cardiology drug development, mentor medical directors, and collaborate with top-tier biopharma clients. Ideal for experienced physician-leaders with deep cardiology expertise and a strong background in clinical trials or medical affairs.

Salary Range: $210,000 – $398,000 annually
Work Mode: Remote (U.S. based)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic medical oversight for cardiovascular clinical trials and therapeutic programs

  • Serve as Medical Monitor and key medical contact for assigned studies

  • Mentor and supervise medical directors and scientific staff

  • Contribute to protocol development, study design, data review, and training

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, EMA, GCP, and ICH standards

  • Participate in bid defense and RFP processes for business development

  • Interface with global client medical teams and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Drive asset- and portfolio-level initiatives with pharma and biotech partners

  • Contribute to risk mitigation, safety review, and trial optimization strategies

  • Represent Syneos Health in scientific meetings, publications, and advisory boards


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent medical degree required; U.S. board certification in Cardiology strongly preferred

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in clinical drug development, medical monitoring, or medical affairs within cardiology

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing clinical programs and scientific staff

  • Experience in cross-functional, global team environments

  • Strong working knowledge of FDA, EMA, and ICH-GCP regulations

  • Excellent communication, scientific presentation, and strategic planning skills

  • Business acumen and experience supporting business development efforts preferred
