Role Overview
The Executive – Coding Services role is responsible for accurate medical coding, documentation review, compliance checks, and supporting the overall revenue cycle process. The position requires strong knowledge of coding guidelines, healthcare terminology, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Extract relevant and accurate clinical information from patient medical records.
Review documentation for completeness, missing data, and compliance.
Assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9/ICD-10-CM, APC, DRG, and ASA codes.
Ensure all documents are grammatically accurate and free from errors.
Conduct chart audits and maintain coding accuracy standards.
Report system, equipment, or software-related issues to supervisors.
Ensure strict adherence to medical coding policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Validate that assigned codes align with physician diagnoses and clinical documentation.
Stay updated with changes in coding rules and regulatory requirements.
Collect, manage, and distribute coding-related information and billing insights.
Required Qualifications & Expertise
Graduation in Life Sciences or any equivalent degree with Anatomy/Physiology as core subjects.
Experience Required: 6 months to 2 years of hands-on medical coding experience.
Certification in any one of the following (mandatory):
AAPC: CPC, COC, CRC, CPC-P
AHIMA: CCS, CCSP, CCA
Strong proficiency in computer applications and medical record systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow compliance standards.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work at a computer workstation for 6–8 hours daily.
Ability to maintain focus in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Occasional requirement to lift and move materials up to 20 lbs.
Ability to perform tasks that involve manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Work may involve occasional periods of elevated workload and deadlines.
