Overview:
Elanco is seeking a Production Planning Specialist to oversee and optimize supply chain operations at our Chengdu facility. This role will coordinate supply, production, and material planning to ensure timely product delivery and efficient resource use. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of SAP, production scheduling, and cross-functional communication.


Key Responsibilities:

Supply & Demand Planning:

  • Maintain and update rolling supply plans in alignment with customer forecasts and orders

  • Work with QA and warehouse teams to ensure on-time product delivery

  • Quickly adjust plans to meet evolving customer needs

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and manage daily production plans based on rolling forecasts

  • Maximize production line capacity and labor allocation

  • Track and optimize CORRS KPIs

Material Management:

  • Update MRP data, create PRs, and coordinate timely delivery of materials

  • Track material arrivals and quality release to meet production timelines

  • Adjust plans in response to returns or quality issues

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor material inventory levels to meet scrap and slow-moving stock targets

  • Support inventory value management objectives

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate across departments—customers, procurement, engineering, quality, and warehouse—to align plans

  • Support artwork updates and packaging version transitions across departments

System & Risk Management:

  • Utilize SAP and Veeva systems: create process orders, manage change controls

  • Identify potential supply risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Provide support for any additional tasks assigned by management


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Minimum 2 years experience in production or material planning

  • Strong understanding of supply chain and operations management

  • Familiarity with production processes, quality standards, and SAP systems

  • Effective verbal and written communication in English

  • Strong coordination, logic, and teamwork skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in data analysis

  • Experience with risk assessment and supply mitigation planning
