Position Overview

Medpace, a leading full-service Clinical Research Organization (CRO), is seeking a Director of Clinical Trial Management to join our growing team. This senior-level role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects in key therapeutic areas, including Oncology/Hematology, Cardiovascular/Metabolic, Infectious Disease, and Neuroscience.

This position can be based in Cincinnati, OH, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, or remotely with relevant experience. We offer a highly competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and equity grants for senior associates.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for day-to-day clinical trial operations, ensuring adherence to ICH/GCP guidelines and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Serve as the primary Sponsor contact for operational project-specific issues and deliverables.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of protocol, therapeutic area, and study indication.

  • Lead and oversee cross-functional project teams, ensuring proper training, task allocation, and timely deliverables.

  • Review and provide input on study protocols, edit check specifications, data analysis plans, and final study reports as applicable.

  • Develop and implement operational project plans, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

  • Manage study vendors and external collaborators to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Monitor site quality, monitoring activities, and project timelines, proactively addressing issues as they arise.

  • Participate in bid defense and client presentations.


Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field; advanced degree preferred (PharmD, MPH, or equivalent).

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Clinical Trial Manager within a CRO.

  • Proven experience managing Phases 1-4 clinical trials, with Phases 2-3 preferred.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project timelines, vendors, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Bid defense experience is highly desirable.
