Employment Type: Full-time | Regular

About the Role:
Novartis is seeking a Data Anonymization Analyst to join our global Data42 team, supporting clinical research and healthcare data initiatives. The role focuses on anonymizing clinical and non-clinical datasets—including clinical raw and derived data, lab and third-party data, images, documents, and other unstructured data—to enable secure secondary research while mitigating the risk of re-identification of personal information.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality anonymization deliverables. This position also emphasizes innovation, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards in data anonymization practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform end-to-end data anonymization for datasets in line with company and industry standards (CDISC, SDTM/ADaM, eCTD, Define.xml).

  • Collaborate with internal and external analysts on anonymization projects and provide recommendations based on risk-based anonymization strategies.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery of anonymized datasets.

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to summarize and report the status of deliverables.

  • Conduct quality control, validation, and ensure audit readiness of all anonymized datasets.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programming languages (SAS, Python) and modern data platforms (Databricks, Palantir Foundry).

  • Apply innovative approaches, including AI/LLM methods, to improve data anonymization efficiency.

  • Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the data anonymization workflow.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • High-quality and timely anonymization deliverables.

  • Effective collaboration with global teams and stakeholders.

  • Implementation of innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Education: BA/BS/MS in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences (Genetics/Bioinformatics preferred), or equivalent international experience.

  • Experience: 2–3 years in a programming role or anonymization-related position within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or clinical trials environments.

  • Proficiency in SAS programming and commercial anonymization applications (preferably using risk-based statistical methods).

  • Strong understanding of CDISC standards, clinical data structures, and standard program development.

  • Knowledge of Python and experience with platforms like Databricks or Palantir Foundry is advantageous.

  • Awareness of regulatory requirements relevant to statistical programming (GCP, study procedures).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills, with global collaboration experience.

  • Project management skills with a proven record of delivering complex assignments in matrixed organizations.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to process and quality improvements.

  • Languages: Fluent English (oral and written).
